Still searching for a technician to install the pneumatic joint and paying the installation fee? Well, come and see how you can install the connector yourself.

When your factory is humming along, making good money for you, suddenly a part breaks and all operations grind to a halt. You start frantically looking for technicians, and every passing minute eats into your earnings.

But what if that technician is on extended sick leave or away on vacation? Even worse, what if you don’t have anyone on your maintenance crew who can handle it? Or perhaps, you don’t have the part in stock and can’t reach the original equipment manufacturer. Just think about how much money you lose each minute when your production line is down because of a $2 part that takes only a few moments to replace.

Pneumatic equipment is famous for being reliable and tough. However, years of smooth operation can make you slack off when it comes to stocking parts. Sometimes these machines seem indestructible, while other times they work so long that the team forgets all about spares. Then, a single small part failure can shut down production unexpectedly. But don’t worry. When everything else fails, you can follow a few simple steps to figure out what you’ve got and even learn how to get the part yourself if necessary.

Measure up

To correctly identify the necessary dimensions for fittings, also correctly identify the necessary dimensions for solenoids, manifolds, cylinders, valves, air preparation and all other pneumatic components. At the very least you should get a caliper for measurements, although sometimes you can use a good ruler and double check.
