Layflat hose serves well in civil and industrial settings. Yet, there are numerous types. So, what are they and what are their uses? Let me tell you.

First up, the PVC Layflat Hose

It’s made from PVC and commonly used for irrigation, dewatering and general water pump work. Since it’s quite cheap, it becomes the top economical pick for farms.

Next is the TPU Layflat Hose

It outlasts PVC hose as it’s more durable. It’s perfect for tough conditions like in industry and forestry. Because it needs to resist more wear. Also, it makes a great fire hose.

Then, we have the Nitrile Rubber Layflat Hose

Its lining is nitrile rubber, which has excellent resistance to oil and corrosion. Therefore, it’s just right for petrol lines and the chemical industry to move oil, chemicals, and other corrosive substances.

Moving on, the EPDM Layflat Hose is designed for high temperature applications. For example, hot water transfer. Additionally, it’s super for outdoor use. Why? Because among rubbers, EPDM has the finest aging and weather resistance.

The PU Layflat Hose is highly flexible and extremely wear-resistant. In fact, its wear resistance is 3 – 5 times better than materials like PVC and rubber. Moreover, it can handle corrosion and chemicals like acid and alkali. So, it’s ideal for applications where bending or twisting occurs.

TPU Layflat Hose

The Rubber Covered Layflat Hose comes with a rubber cover. This cover makes the hose last longer and guards it against wear. Consequently, it’s suitable for rough and tough applications.

Finally, the Fire Hose is specifically for firefighting. Actually, all the previously mentioned layflat hoses can act as fire hoses. However, each has its own traits. Among them, the PU-lined fire hose performs the best, though it costs a lot more than the others.
